As you can see, this isn't really an issue for myself but it looks like there could be some light at the end of the tunnel. A cure for baldness is one of those things that i subconsciously expect to never happen but things could be looking up.

I have included a poll here because i know we all think about each others hair. I'm thinking about one of your haircuts right now. Nice, mate. *nods*

  Quote
For the first time, scientists in Germany have grown hair follicles from stem cells.

The feat has brought scientists a step closer to creating a cure for baldness.

The study used cells taken from animals, but researchers hope to create human hair follicles from human stem cells within a year.

Stem cells are the body’s master cells. With manipulation in the lab, they can be grown into any tissue in the human body from blood to bone and even whole organs.

Although stem cells are seen as the holy grail for medicine, progress has been slow and very few treatments are widely available.

However, Professor Roland Lauster at Berlin’s Technical University believes his work could be a step towards providing treatment for the 80 per cent of people who suffer from hair loss worldwide.

Lauster claims the treatment – which would probably require the hair follicles to be implanted on to the head – could be available in five years.

“Since 1950 the number of new chemicals used in cosmetics has risen 500—fold, and so has the need for animals to be experimented upon to ensure they are safe for humans.

This could well do away with the need for them to suffer,” he was quoted as saying.

In 2004, a team from the University of Pennsylvania in the US also produced evidence that stem cell research could help prevent baldness. However, as of yet, no baldness cure has been invented.

It's okay man. It's like balls. They drop down. So do breasts. It's nature. Deal with it, it's fatalism.

Both my grandfathers went bald when they were young. My brother is losing his hair.

I've still got mine, though, and so does my father.

Supposely, baldness is inherited from the mother's side though.

lol, I was going to say "finally my dick won't have to envy my ball's hairiness!"

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces.

I'm more interested in finding out if it would help me grow a better beard.

Oh and whoever mentioned baldness comes from your mothers side is correct, specifically (so I hear) from your moms mom. Whatever gene or trait that causes baldness comes from them.

Both of my grandfathers died with full heads of hair. No worries here. If I were going bald, I'd just go the Bruce Willis route and keep it close cropped.

Guest Coalbucket PI

I'm looking forward to a Phil Collins central hair reservation which will dwindle until I expire, hopefully rich and bitter in Switzerland.

That thing about inheriting baldness from your mammy is probably not true, it's not a single gene trait.

Rambo I should point out that male pattern baldness requires testosterone to occur, seems like you ought to have some of that floating around?

Thats not really a good indication. Testosterone levels can be different in women and the gene might not have the full effect. If she has/had a brother, you'd get a better indication of the lifespan of your hair.
