its weird, normally when i see the hosts for those shitty panel shows, i think "yeah well i can see why they do it, the money must be good, and they're not really talented enough to do anything else"

but charlie is talented enough to do something else. so the money must be DAMN good. weird to see him hosting a show like this instead of taking the piss out of it

he's gotta pay the bills somehow ya cynical fuck, let him have a shit show (not counting nathan barley) for once.

i know. i'm not trying to criticise him or be cynical.

just a shame that that's the kind of show he has to do to pay his bills.

YHBW is no where near as good as screenwipe was/is but it was still funny.

He has a new show coming out next year where he interviews "normal" people and picks apart everything about them in their mundane life.

i like those clips, what's the best example of his work, or.. best place to start?

Probably the various 'wipe series. He came to prominence through tvgohome, which was a satirical tv listings website. Cunt, a regular feature of tvgohome, then formed the basis of Nathan Barley, which he wrote in conjunction with Chris Morris. It's an acquired taste (I like it) but worth tracking down. He writes for the Guardian a lot also.

his column in the guardian was good too. he stopped doing it recently, but you can still view the xrchive online.

Presume marriage will have to mellow him, because from now on every time he has a go at bland vacuous shite on telly you think 'and your wife is the very epitome of it'.

I think that's sort of why he's moving out of scathing TV commentary, cause he's all over TV now and knows all the people. Said something along those lines in the guardian article when he quit the TV column

I would say Endemol is the very epitome of it, and oh the incestuous irony, Brooker's production company Zeppotron is part of it.
