Shit to do in San Francisco

Recommended Posts

I'm heading from Bellingham to San Francisco outrageously early tomorrow, staying for ten days.

Any suggestions? I have accommodation sorted, but otherwise I'm basically broke. Give me inexpensive things, views, pubs, whatever you've got. So far I've been told to check out the Long Now museum, Noc Nocs, seafood, and bridge.

Also,

HAPPY FUCKING CHRISTMAS, ASSHOLES

EDIT: I'm staying near Union Square

what kind of things are you interested in checking out?

I'd advise on staying away from Alcatraz, any kind of tour, or going to pier 39 aka fisherman's warf. Unless your goal is to experience the most touristy aspects of San Francisco. Probably the art museums included MOMA aren't going to blow you away that much, unless you have little of that kind of thing in Vancouver. There is one cool classical art museum called the Legion of Honor that i really like. I'm not familiar with noc nocs or San francisco having particularly good seafood. They are famous for good clam chowder, but beyond that i can't say i've ever been that impressed

recommendations:

Exploritorium: a technology/art museum is probably one of the most creative museums i've ever been to. All of the exhibits are extremely innovative and interactive.

Cal Academy of Sciences: the newest mega museum in San Francisco. In a great location, has a beautiful gigantic aquarium in the basement with very exotic stuff. world famous aquarium and has been under construction for nearly 15 years

Japantown: san francisco has a more famous China town thats a pretty crowded intense and oversaturated touristy place to go, but i think Japantown is much neater. Basically it's a giant indoor 3 story mall where every single shop is marketed towards japanese culture. OVer 20 japanese restaurants under one roof, electronic stores, book stores, zen shops, taiko drum supplies. It's pretty awesome

Ameoba Records: basically the best record store in the entire united states and probably Canada too. The Los Angeles location is a little more desirable but you'll love this store if you a music collector.

Underneath the Golden Gate bridge: the lookout points that you can park at right before the golden gate bridge are not that cool, my favorite place to view it from is underneath on the beach below called Baker Beach.

Be careful though because it's a known gay sex spot for male cruisers, if you don't mind seeing some swinging dicks check it out. You can actually walk across the bridge if you want which is pretty fun to do at least once

Sutro tower: if you like modern architecture, this has some of the best views of the skyline and San Francisco from the very top of the mountain.

unfortunately you cant climb up it but you can go right beneath it, its worth going to just for the unbeatable San francisco city view

hope this helps!

I'll be careful :spiteful:

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm definitely going to go record shopping and checking out the more "different" clubs I can find.

And no, I'm not into the really "touristy" stuff; I like to just wander around, not BUY BUY BUY

the tenderloin has some nice crack this time of year

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces.

-organized confused project

to tell you the truth most of the 'different' clubs are gone from San Francisco, there are some interesting bars but as far as going to see live music in a cool club the options are almost zero. I guess at the same time though i have very different standards than most people to what a cool club experience is. Going to see Mr Oizo at 1015 folsom only reinforced just how not worth it it is to pay over $25 for that shit, fucking disappointing as fuck
