i was thinking that what if the faith-based elements of christianity, over the centuries, morph into current secular christmas lore. let's say there's a great data loss Y2K style, and maybe a nuclear war, and survivors rebuild their religion out of second hand memories. jesus becomes santa claus. christians believe in santa, and then on christmas, to make it more fun and consumer-based, a fake entity is created to include those who dont believe in santa. something like a giant blue cat that only regurgitates koosh balls onto the foreheads of sleeping kids who were good that year and whose only means of transportation is via sack race. i think that would be pretty cool.
