This is great... I don't know much of anything about Mick Karn, but I can tell I should.

mick was possibly the finest fretless electric bass player of the 80s... he kinda spawned a brief period where everyone was imitating his style (see: paul young - come back and stay)

also, japan were well named... they were huge in japan and china; after one tour, mick acquired a hot japanese girlfriend, who left him for david sylvian (the singer, and another amazing musician whose solo catalogue is well worth checking out)... anyway that was the end of japan.

and i suppose the fact he didn't play on their biggest (and most idm) hit was just as important:
