What kind of software does it take to make something like this? I'd like to make videos really badly.

This was done with Autodesk Maya, but animation could be done with any 3D software.

Watched it. It was good. Very good. I even found it quite sentimental the way it ended. Took me by surprise throughout.

I love how his aesthetics work, big chunky digital renders but it still feels so raw and grounded, unlike all that over-done over polished kids program 3D shite.

BD, could you point me to some more 3D software?

Sculptris is another very nifty small tool for free sculpting. Its a bit like a baby brother of Zbrush.

This one has a small learning curve and you can see results straight away, plus you can import and export .obj files

You could always download the 30 day trial for Maya, but both Maya and 3dsMax have some seriously filthy learning curves... I think I might give Maya a shot someday.

A huge O'Reilly fan and was first introduced to him through the amazing Please Say Something short -

Though for some reason I didn't know anything about this latest one until today. Can't wait to watch this in big ol' HD this evening.

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

i really loved please say something but i was putting off the external world cause i wanted to be in the mood for something sappy and poignant. I was (extremely) pleasantly surprised at the change of tone. Im laughing my ass off

fuck off!

I really like the themes as well. The one of paternal influence is very strong, and obviously death, sex, shame and sadness. I thought the Acme retirement community was incredible, the place filling with blood. I just love the way all the subject matter is handled. It really requires repeated viewing.
