Guest hmgwy
Hey, I'm new to this board, but I thought I'd share a work in progress: http://soundcloud.com/hemingway/puls8-rough-demo/s-AJ5n9 Any feedback would be great. Thanks, James Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/62863-ambienttech-demo/ Share on other sites
sheatheman
I am also new to this board. Sorry no one has responded yet. the bit that come in at around 0:29 makes me want to keep listening, and then I love the cheesy synth that comes in at 0:48. then I get a strong BOC vibe from the murmuring synth that comes in at 1:00, very kaini industries/bocuma-esq. This is an accomplished track for sure, definitely something I could chill to. I would advise you in affecting the sound more, working on blending the beat into the sonic space that the rest of the song wants to go. maybe record the beat dry with an external recorder through the air, that will give it some space and make it organic. put that as a separate track, then compress it, give it some good release/hiss, and turn down the dry drum track a bit. I think the beat wants to be more subtle, but it is constructed well form a sequencing perspective. the track overall reminds me of a Porn Sword Tobacco song. not saying you are copying or being influenced by it. here is the track: I really would like to hear your track worked on some more. Thanks for the feedback. Glad somebody out there is listening. I really like the phasing on the drum verb in this Porn Sword Tobacco track. I might try something similar with my drums - they might be a little dry. I'm not sure if parallel compressing them will make them more subtle.. but I think a bit of verb/white noise might do the job. I'm going to work on it some more this weekend. sheatheman
I think the white noise is a good idea. In the mean time, I invite you to listen to this track of mine. it's not as contemplative as yours, but I am having a great time making it. http://soundcloud.com/shea-mcgilvray/juicced Edited January 14, 2011 by sheatheman Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/62863-ambienttech-demo/#findComment-1495230 Share on other sites
Guest hmgwy
Sorry for the delayed response. Just had a listen to your track. I'm diggin the distorted percussion intermingling with those chords. The mix sounds a bit noisy to my ears, but with that aside, I really like where it's going. Good start!
