what would you do if you lost your sense of hearing and went deaf ?

a pal of mine who was special ops in iraq/Afghanistan for the last 5 years has been exposed to many explosions in the war theatre and has lost 90% of his hearing

he is getting a cochlear implant and will be using a super high powered hearing aid

i bum hard for him and it makes me realize how lucky i [we] are

I'd learn sign language?

i doubt i'd want to learn sign language, i can't imagine i'd care enough. but to answer the question, i'm not even sure what i'd do at first. i'd be too enraged over the fact that i'm deaf.

id definitely be depressed for years...maybe the rest of my life..but id definitely read far more than i do now...probably no reason to play video games at that point either.

what if you could hear things but just couldnt listen?
