cubase5 question

Hi I am asking this here because I cant ask anymore on the cubase.net forums cause some mod demanded i enter in my registration details and is closing all my posts until I do that.

Is there any way to get "automation follows events" to also move automation from a vsti track and not just the MIDI track? I had this problem in sx3 and figured they would have fixed it in version 5 by now but it doesnt look like they have.

guess you're gonna have to get cubase 6 for that. that'll be $850 dollars...

in all seriousness though you can probably do it. i just don't know how and can't be bothered to open cubase right now.

im debating upgrading to cubase 6. only hesitation is that Cuabse 5 was kind of a fake update.

are you sure this is something that you can do with cubase 6 or were u just sayin that

well basically u have 2 places you can configure automation for a vst, one is on the midi channel, the other on the channel for the actual vsti. "automation follows events" allows it so that when you move a midi event, the automation data is moved along with it so you dont have to move those automation points separately (this is very useful when you have multiple automation lanes). However since the vsti track is separate, the automation points drawn for the vsti track are not moved when you move the midi event (which makes sense I guess since its a separate track, however given the huge PITA it is when you have lots of automation for the vsti track and you want to move the corresponding midi event, i find it hard to believe they would not have this functionality built in still in version 5).
