RIP Salvatore Cusato aka CASCO

He gave Daft Punk every idea they didn't directly sample in this track right here...

Last thing he did that I'm aware of is a sweet remix for his disciple Bottin:

Cybernetic Love was pretty much the track that turned me on to Italo. R.I.P.

I hate to bring this up in an R.I.P. thread, but I'm pretty sure Stop wasn't produced by Casco. I really hope I'm wrong but I remember hearing "stop" on one of his mixes and looking it up to see who produced it so I could look for more of their work. Casco is listed as "presenter" with the actual writing and production credits going to Carlo Favilli and Stefano Zito. It's hard to say though because so many of those producers had various aliases.

Pretty sure you're right. I've seen photos of all three of them, and I doubt there was any Bradley Strider stuff going on. I'd just assumed Casco was involved in Blackway's production in some way. Think I'll do some discogs digging.

I do wonder if there's any more Cybernetic Love era stuff from Cusato, released or not, 'cause a track like that doesn't come from nowhere.

Well he was more famous as a radio and club DJ, so the "Casco presents" could imply more of an endorsement/discovery thing than actual production.

Does beg the question though - if Casco had no musical input into the "Casco presents" tracks, that means he did one track ever and it was Cybernetic Love?

"Cybernetic Love was released on the label House Of Music and Salvatore had a hand in many of the productions that were coming out on the label, most notably alongside Carlo Favilli and Paolo Del Prete on such classic releases as B.W.H. Stop/Livin' Up and Mr Master A Dog In The Night. He was modest about his involvement with these tracks but without Salvatore's input they might not have become the classics they did as his DJ ears were crucial in the mixdown/arrangement phase, moulding the music to work on the dancefloor."
