Guest munch
Hello! So I'm going through an old album of mine, one I have multitracks to of every song. However, as I put each multi-track (Guit 1, Bass, Guit 2 etc.) into Ableton (the program it was sourced from) - the parts are all different BPMs, and nothing lines up. They should all be the same BPM obvs, but I guess Ableton's in built checking thing changes it for me. Now every piece is a different length, and I can't exactly remix this now can I. Any fixes for this? I'll happily be shown something obvious and called a spastic git, I just want this stuff to be workable! I've tried turning off the 'Warp' settings and all that. Nothing yet. Thank you muchly for your help. edit - even in Audacity, the tracks are different lengths? But they should all be the same. Have I just straight up screwed up the master multitracks by exporting them incorrectly? Hautlle
Ya man, if they're different lengths in audacity it sounds as though the masters are fuxored. Turning off the Warp setting should have fixed it for you Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide Hautlle's signature Hide all signatures Albums/EPs Free to DL or stream Newest stuff is on Soundcloud Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/63593-question-about-abletonmixdowns-and-timing/#findComment-1510767 Share on other sites

Hautlle
You could try fixing it with the warp feature by hand adjusting the bpm of each track so they line up proper again Edited February 7, 2011 by hautlle Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide Hautlle's signature Hide all signatures Albums/EPs Free to DL or stream Newest stuff is on Soundcloud Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/63593-question-about-abletonmixdowns-and-timing/#findComment-1511287 Share on other sites
kcinsu
When you bounced each part from your previous session, did you just bounce the areas that had audio, or did you bounce the entire length of the song every time? If you just bounced sections that have audio, you'll have to figure out the BPM of the old session, and then re-place each audio segment. Guest munch
This may be the wrong way to do it, but I just highlighted the whole session, had one track live with the rest mute, exported it one at a time. Even if there was silence. Now that I think about it, I deleted each track as I went, to speed it up. So maybe the final tracks that were left got exported with different BPM's? Gah Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/63593-question-about-abletonmixdowns-and-timing/#findComment-1511321 Share on other sites
kcinsu
Weird... Should line up. Maybe you changed the sampling rate at some point? Although I don't see why'd that would happen if you didn't go out of you way to do that. Not sure what else I can add without seeing the files my self.
