i came across this video; there's a bit of web-hype about it. i don't really pay attention to the hiphop scene much but it strikes me as pretty fucking rad, the track as well as the video:

i agree. i love the music of yonkers and the fallon performance was awesome, but i listened to about half of "bastard" and it's pretty all over the place. some really cool ideas though, just very inconsistent. much potential.

based on these vids alone... this dude shits all over lil b. I don't know much about Tyler the Creator or Odd Future. But What've I've heard is very entertaining.

i feel like this is the first time in a while where the group actually lives up to the hype. sure theyre a bunch of punk ass teenagers, but thats part of the charm. unfortunately p diddy and kanye have taken to championing them, so hopefully their sound doesnt turn into boring, glossy bullshit..

i saw that nardwuar interview the other day. he actually seems phased at times, which is rare for nardwuar.

Yeah, I hope they don't make any sacrifices in their music when it comes to getting themselves out there. Their pure creativity and Oddball style is what has carried them this far, I don't see it running out of steam any time soon.

Yonkers is a great track, but some of the other stuff is lyrically kinda meh, the lo-fi production and noisy beats are good, but lyrically they leave a little bit to be desired... By that I mean their habit of just using obscenities for the sake of obscenity... it works in tracks like "Check My French" but sometimes it kinda just kinda comes off as juvenile. Yonkers kinda deters from this a little while staying odd and dark, if he refines this a little more he'll be great. They're definitely onto something though. Tyler's the most talented of the crew now that Earl's kinda done (boarding school?)
