That, if any track, deserves to be heard by people. Probably in my top three all time best tunes, out of any genre. Edited by 40days

It would be lovely if they dedicated a full own release for this purpose - unreleased gems from the Bytes vault or generally early 90s. I'm sure there's plenty.

If there is, that would be a fantastic release.

never gonna happen. :)

if you watched that video interview with Plaid a short while back then they said in that that they're not into going back and doing anything like this; making old style tracks or re-releasing anything. if anybody was going to do it it would be tBd, yeah, but Ken's been banging on for years about how they would never do a Bytes II or any sort of 'best of' box set... so... forget it. unless he changes his mind, of course, and goes back on that, for the mo' money...

Edited by sirch

I've not watched any interview(s), but a disc of unreleased of material wouldn't be too much of a cash in in my opinion. Calling it Bytes II would be stupid of course. But yeah... At least we have one Bytes.

i remember reading ages ago that Ken Downie threw all his old Black Dog DAT's into the sea... so i don't think there is any,

at least that tBd own now, and they're the ones that would do it.

Plaid probably still have a bunch of stuff, but aren't into the idea of releasing any of it. but who knows, maybe in 10 years they might change their mind and want to cash in and release some stuff. i doubt it tho cos they're always writing new stuff... i reckon the only cash in that was ever gonna happen has already happened with the re-release of all their old EP's on Soma a few years back. and that was down to tBd.

I would have thought Soma have a bigger say over Plaid anyway. Dont understand why if they came to them and asked would they mind old unreleased stuff seeing the light of day, to say no.

But after that warehouse in London got torched, I can see this and Plaids new one getting delayed.

the old unreleased stuff Plaid have, if any, belongs to Warp, tho. not Soma. if Plaid were gonna do anything like that it would be through Warp.

the reason, i guess, that Soma could re-release the old EP's easily like that was cos they were originally released on tBds' own label, BDP. not Warp.

i'd like to see and hear it as much as the next old fan, but i don't reckon it'll ever happen. there's prolly more chance of a BoC album coming out!! lol

lol. i think they'd be a bit fucked by now!

and it wasn't said in interview. was said on his forum, like 6 or 7 years ago... a long time ago, back before he teamed up with Dust. early 2000's-ish.

and all that stuff has gone now so you wouldn't be able to read about it.
