what else should I grab from them?

Recommended Posts

I only have MHTRTC, Geogaddi, and TCH, as well as the Twoism EP (love this one). It seems like they still have quite a bit I havent heard (Everything You Do is a Balloon is the only track ive heard outside of the previously mentioned four releases I have), so where to go from here?

Thanks

this sounds like an airplane landing on a minefield

Got to be the In A Beautiful Place....EP next. Essential listening.

Then pick up what you can and before you know it, there'll be some new stuff.

Just get everything... There really isn't much available from these guys. Pretty simple from a collector's standpoint (unless you get into the misc exclusive tracks on obscure compilations).

well now i know what to lisen to right now :D

usually i get thrown off by ambiguity but looks like i have priorities

Do you realize what you are suggesting? No one, NO ONE has ever made it past the bunker defences. The barbwire, yes, the minefield - maybe, but the bunker defences? Not to mention that godawful laser section ...

Anyway, Beautiful Place EP is very good, but I think Zoetrope blows to be honest.

I don't think anybody likes Zeotrope. It's just a necessary evil to make the other tracks sound even better.

yeah that ep was incredible, now im gonna get a few old tunes. BoC never fails to disappoint (I enjoyed Zoetrope )

Note:

A Few Old Tunes and the obscure 35 Track Tape have never officially been released, hence they can't be bought. The only thing available are the low-quality files that are floating about the internet. Old Tunes were compilation tapes BoC gave to personal friends, one of which must have leaked them, while the 35 Track Tape is of unknown origin, as in nobody really knows who compiled it, but it's actual BoC tracks. There are two, not three Old Tunes -tapes. "A Few Old Tunes" and "Old Tunes Vol.1" are the same, unlike popular belief, leading to many mis-labeled tracks, plus there's plenty of fakes around as well.

BoC would love for people not to be able to listen to these old tapes since they weren't supposed to be released as low quality cassette-rip mp3's, plus BoC are perfectionists and probably dislike the lower skill production of the tapes by now. After all, some people say it's exactly that "raw" sound of the tracks that makes them exceptionally BoC-ish.

i guess you can also check out their live show recordings: warp10 , lighthouse, and ATP, all quite good.

Well that's kind of true but technically there are three tapes of old Boc Tunes floating about the internets. You've got:

A Few Old Tunes (which has recently been discovered as being also titled Old Tunes Vol.1)

Old Tunes Vol.2

'Random 35 Tracks Tape' (previously incorrectly titled as Old Tunes Vol.1)

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

could someone write up a track listing for the old tunes

the proper album names the tracks and their order

mine like many people i'm sure are very disorganized and i'd like to see how they are supposed to be :sorcerer:

I wasn't aware that the 35 Track Tape had been called Old Tunes Vol.1 before, I hadn't even heard of that tape until last year. But yeah, all together, there are three tapes out there, two original Old Tunes plus the strange 35er, that's what I meant to say.
