I'm sure some people are mistaking Zombi and Zomby (the dubstep producer), lol.

hello

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.

Zombi, Zomby, Rustie, Rusko, Roska, Mosca...

I gather some of these knobs make decent music other than generic dubstep, but I have no which one(s)

Zombi is Goblin-esque synth prog, not at all dubstep

Zomby does bleepy wonky, 2 step, and old school hardcore depending on which album you listen to

Rustie is kind of wonky, very synth heavy and a some proggy melodies

I'd recommend checking these out

The other three I don't know so well but I'm pretty sure at least two of them subscribe to the "UK Funky" sound which is not really my thing

This rules. Bummed it took me this long to check it out; thanks for the rec, watmm. Wasn't sure if I'd like the synth/drums combo but they do it well.

Anybody know anything similar? Will Zombi be putting out any new material? Maybe exclusively on their tape label (http://vcorecordings.bandcamp.com/)?

Both members of Zombi - Steve Moore and Anthony Paterra - make their own individual solo music. They also write together under the alias Majeure. Check out the Steve Moor/Majeure album Brainstorm.

Zombi are influenced, to a degree, by the music of Italian horror stalwarts Goblin, so it might be worthwhile trudging through their early back catalogue, particularly the stuff they did for the Dario Argento and George Romero movies.

Another artist that I like, who specialises in horror movie soundscapes, is Umberto. His album Confrontations was OK but a bit more sci-fi influenced than his usual horror scores.
