I've done this thread before. I'm preparing to begin a lifetime half-career as a live performer/DJ.

I figured I would start a thread on WATMM for this kind of music and for us to discuss... what's going on out there in the world?! mixes, techno, bass music, etc...

my first interest is this "Work Them" track by Ramadanman. it's not as 'new' as it was a few weeks ago but it's still great. as you can tell i don't know what the hell i'm doing/talking about regarding the DJ world and clubs... I'm looking forward to learning though.

Ye thats a great idea, play what everyone else is playing.

Play whatever you want to play.

You could be amazed how disappointed a crowd can be when a DJ doesn't play any 90s hits or brostep in a mix.

exactly. i mean, it's not like the DJ has to sell his soul to Borgore or whatever, but you have to have at least a working knowledge of what's current, depending on where you're playing. that's what i've picked up on at least.

really digging this new Sandwell District album... Feed-Forward. pretty hard stuff though.

major inspiration too. night slugs is probably the label that made me see the potential in working within the boundaries of "dubstep music"
