kcinsu
So, I've developed tendonitis, and supposedly trackball mice take off the strain. I see there are quite a few different designs out there... ones that are large and look more like a control box, then there are ones that look like mice with a ball in the middle, and then there are ones that look like mice with the ball on the side, for thumb control. Who has experience/opinions on what is best for taking strain off your arm? For editing? Etc? Thanks! Guest hahathhat
wrist-rest comes before special mice if you haven't tried that already also get a squeezyball to improve circulation (or what the fuck ever, it certainly helps me...) jules
do you have enough room on your desk to support your elbow or is it hanging off? I'm in illustrator/indesign/photoshop all day and I switched my desk around to allow elbow support. made a huge difference. Guest Babar
there's also the trackpad alternative. It's not that bad. Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/64245-trackball-mouse/#findComment-1528460 Share on other sites
Guest Gary C
I had the second sort, a Logitech too, for my old PC. Even now I still prefer them to 'movable' mice. I've exclusively used a laptop trackpad at home for about 7 years now, which I'd imagine is worse for you than a mouse, but I haven't noticed anything yet. I have a squishy wrist-rest at work, which I never thought about at first, but would miss it now. springymajig
Never used one of these but I can say this: if I use a mouse for over 2 hours, I start to get a sore wrist. I have a 9x12 wacom tablet, and if I use that (even for just browsing/word document editing and stuff like that) I never, ever get a sore wrist. And you can get a little bamboo tablet for pretty cheap.
