closed-back studio headphones for use during (microphone) recordings

Recommended Posts

I'll assume AKGs are the best for this task, but which ones are considered the best?

K271 have this in the discription (their other headphones don't, does that mean they leak more?):

The K 271 Studio are also ideal for all applications where no sound must leak from the headphones. The headphones switch off automatically when taken off. Since this feature prevents headphone signals from spilling over into an open microphone it is highly appreciated by recording studio, live sound, TV sound, and broadcast engineers.

high-end AKG's are usually quality but my AKG K240DF leaks like an Autechre album. it doesnt cancel any background noise out anything either.

but check these out:

it uses some active noise cancelling technique, should work great. i dont know about the sound quality though, i dont think it could match a K271
