i'm irish and let's not. the introduction of christianity to ireland may have created some gorgeous art, but who's to say what the druidic tradition might have produced given another thousand years. and these days it's an excuse to get drunk and fight in the streets, at least in ireland.

so this particular secular humanist says let's not, you incredibly creepy fangirl.

Ha ha hahahahahhahaaaa. Wow, I needed that.

Nothing makes me laugh harder than seeing earnest dudes using totally on-message Progressive language like "secular" and "humanist" in one breath, then turning around and just tossing in completely Conservative regressive casual sexism in the next. You really didn't think these things through, did you.

I'm not Christian but I do think that early Celtic Christianity was interesting and had it not lost the theological battles with Roman Catholicism in the early days of the church, Christianity might have evolved into a very different and more interesting beast. (No Papal authority, for a start, could have had very different results.)

Given how devolution is playing out in Wales and Scotland, I think the status of Cornwall is peculiar - it is historically, legally, not part of England - yet the English treat it like it is when it suits them, and like it's not when it suits. So I do think this is something worth bringing attention to, as a somewhat more constructive alternative to getting drunk and fighting in the streets:

lolwtf

i've spent a lot of time in Cornwall but never come across any of these supposed seperatists. they only seem to exist on the internet / in the mind of stupid yanks who claim to be "celtic"

sure Cornwall has a Celtic tradition and a decent flag but so do most English counties (and i'd know about the latter point lolololol). and my own native county wasn't part of England until the 1500s but do we shout about it?

it's very easy to shout 'sexism!' any time someone says something you don't like, isn't it?

...actually, this has kinda pissed me off.

please explicitly point out the 'casual sexism' in my post.

if it's the term fangirl, then no - sorry. if you were a guy with a semi-disturbing afx photoshop as an avatar, a weird fawning 'richard david james is god' demeanour, and posts in cornish despite the fact you're not from anywhere near there, then i'd just call you a creepy fanboy instead. stop applying labels to words when those words don't actually imply that meaning. words have specific meanings, they're not there for you to apply your own meanings to willy-nilly.

again, i don't really hate skrillex as much as i hate the people that think that sort of music has any sort of integrity. i try to be open minded, and a lot of the time i employ a "well, each to his/her own" attitude towards personal preferences such as music taste and who knows, maybe it is original in its own way, sorta like a drawing by an autistic kid.
