Mellow Pear Mix

I'm back. This was originally intended as a sequel to The Melancholic Mix, a collection of sad music designed to produce a low that one can only climb upwards from. My original plans were:

- Around 60 minutes in length

- Usage of d|p 2.1 by William Basinski at the beginning

- Usage of d|p 2.2 before the final track, to mirror the beginning and signal disintegration of the music as a whole

- The final track would be an actual suicide song written in 1933 and covered by Anton Szandor LaVey, founder and former high priest of the Church of Satan

However, I found myself running out of depressing music to sample for the mix. The project was drifting from the tone I had set in the original mix, and ended up moving into downtempo, even ambient territory. I was at the half-way point when I added the track "So 2005" by Locust Toybox and, after listening to it all the way through, I realized that this would be a perfect end to the mix as it was. So, people of WATMMixes, instead of another Melancholic Mix, I present to you something else. I'm not quite sure what it is, but the tracks are good and they flow into each other nicely.

Perhaps something could be learned from this. An important note about this mix is that its intended effect changed during production, so please, feel free to give your critique. Tell me what it does for you, which parts work for you and which parts don't. This is an experiment, a chance for us all to learn.

Wow.. a whole week and a half it's been. Has anyone listened to this mix yet? I could use some feedback.
