yes i know (and i mean from experience). But stealing protected saved passwords requires hacking tools(and a hacker to use them), whereas stealing unprotected passwords only requires firefox (ie anyone). And since my main concern is relatives invading my privacy(ie people who don't even know how to use a CLI), that should make it.

chrome dude

Chrome saves em, but doesnt show them.

If someone has access to your computer and know anything about computers, youre boned anyway.

but it should at least prompt for some kind of master pass before flashing text before your eyes. glad i always disable pass remember since it's for pussies.

not at all. Today i learnt a quick, easy hack. Available as a default feature on every modern computer that sports firefox. imagine doing this kind of shit in a webcafé. I guess you'd get quite a lot of passwords.

edit: $ $ $

But I doubt a webcafe would have the password remember feature available. It probably deletes all private data when you close out, and it probably locks down the settings for firefox.

you're kidding. When my best mate was still in paris (and too lazy to subscribe to an ISP), i tried hacking a wifi network with no success (we were too far). So i went down the street and entered a webcafé. i booted on a backtrack live-cd and started my shady operations. The manager asked me what i was doing. I told him i was doing an assignment for my computer class. "OK, that's cool, but asked before doing such a thing next time".

That's such bad security, might as well give you the root password. I'm surprised they didn't have a password protected bios with external media booting disabled.

the guy was an old arab. I used to know another one (very funny guy), a young one. One night, a friend and I were waiting for him. At one point my mate receives a text from "Orange Info Service" saying

"yo guys, i'll be a bit late. I'm here in 10 minutes"
