If he intended to catch his head on the edge of the boards like that then it was a very skillfully calculated move. I think likely he just went in for a check and caught the guy at the wrong time.

I dont think he meant to do that, to be honest thats really poor design of a rink. If you have corners at head height it asking for head and limbs to get caught in them. The tackle wasnt bad it was the head getting caught in the side panel.

Im in the library and it might me sort of shriek and people started looking at me.

No sanctions from the league to Chara. And Air Canada is threatening to pull sponsorship from the league if hits to the head aren't banned. It stinks of butthurt to me, where were they when Savard got rocked and Crosby, the poster boy of the NHL, got his bell rung and has yet to return. That said I am all for completely banning hits to the head, because they can seriously mess one up.

thats what I was thinking too. I thought hockey rinks had high walls all around?

same thing happened at the consol energy center against the sabers...but it was more near the blue line where the glass goes up. and the guy didnt get ko'd...and it led to a cheapshot fight with ben lovejoy and the ref.
