technical ableton live question

i am uninstalling live instruments that i don't want won't use

i uninstall under preferences but the folder of these devices stay there on the far left where you find them.

how do i get rid of these empty folders?

You know, I could be wrong, but I believe Live by default comes with all instruments, but unless you have purchased them they won't be able to be used. That being said I don't think you can uninstall instruments/features.

When you do purchase instruments etc they typically just give you live packs that add presets/samples to your Ableton Library, however doing a "fix library" command from preferences should automatically download any live packs for instruments you already own. Its possible this command might remove any live packs you shouldn't have.

Which instruments are you removing?

They basically echo'd what I said above, but I guess if you want you can remove the live packs manually. If you bought Ableton live, i'd just use the "repair library" feature.

thanks. i only use the simpler so i thought it would look cleaner if i got rid of the rest.
