Fantastic, I've listened to the other remix releases a thousand times. I can't thank my old man enough for (incidentally) introducing me to Depeche Mode and alike, though it only meant that I kept stealing his old CDs off the shelf.

Depeche Mode to release ‘Personal Jesus 2011′ remix single as CD, 12-inch and download

Next month, Depeche Mode will preview its triple-disc Remixes 2: 81-11 collection with a multi-format single release of “Personal Jesus 2011,” featuring six different, brand-new mixes of the smash hit off 1990’s Violator — most of which won’t be featured on the new compilation.

Due out on May 30 on Mute Records, “Personal Jesus 2011″ will feature identical tracklists, but in different running orders, on CD and 12-inch vinyl. The download version swaps out one version of the song from the CD and vinyl formats (see full tracklists below).

Of the mixes included on the singles, The Stargate Mix (hear that one here) and the Sie Medway-Smith Remix appear on the deluxe 3CD version of Remixes 2 — due out June 7 — as does an edit of the single’s Alex Metric Remix (hear it here). Not appearing on the comp: the Eric Prydz Remix, the M.A.M. Remix and the Sie Medway-Smith Remix Dub Version.

for some reason, I've never liked non-DM remixes of DM tracks. Only DM seems to know how to remix their stuff well.

Actually, I take that back - that DM tribute album, "For The Masses" has some great (albeit covers) interpretations of DM hits.

and i wish people would stop fucking milking personal jesus, it's one of their worst tracks imo. ruins violator for me. though maybe i only dislike it because it seems to be the ONLY depeche mode song i would hear in goth clubs back in the day. except maybe enjoy the silence but nothing could make me hate that track.

To take advantage of people who are *forced* to buy the product (ie vinyl nerds) rather than try to entice the people who would never buy

Also, shipping costs for a 6xLP box are expensive as fuck
