Guest abusivegeorge
BUDS Washington's first medical marijuana dispensary trial quickly ended in acquittal Thursday afternoon. The Superior Court jury returned its verdict in less than 25 minutes. The prosecution claimed Hicks was responsible for a 201-plant growing operation at his home that far exceeded the 15-plant limit for medical marijuana patients or providers. The defense called 6 witnesses who all said they were either medical marijuana patients or authorized providers for patients. Hicks was described as a "passionate advocate" for medical marijuana who is continuing to take horticulture classes, and remains committed to the cause despite his legal problems. http://ht.ly/4nXqe Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/64889-cannabis-acquittal/ Share on other sites

Guest mafted
Oh yeah, just drink what is technically poison and go beat some people or drive over a cliff.. and smoke this stuff (which happens to b the most addictive substance known to man) with cancer-causing supplements by our big corporations.. way better than a natural medicine that actually prevents and treats many diseases and types of cancer. Guest Babar
Here in france an old biker got caught for cultivating over 1500 plants. He got a 5 months probation or something (= no jail). azatoth
I am optimistic about cannabis legalization/decriminalization in the very near future. In many southern and central European countries it's pretty much de facto decriminalized. It will soon spread up to Scandinavia, maybe not Sweden where the powers that be think they can make it a drug-free country, at the latest when/if there will be a harmonizing of EU drug laws. In Finland it's still illegal and if you get caught growing it's most likely a demeanor charge and some fines, around ~500EUR mostly. It's legal for medicinal use, although it's very limited in scope and only 12 people have a prescription for it and they can only get their weed from one pharmacy here in my town. They did pass a stupid law that pretty much makes it illegal to buy pots and other growing equipment that could be used to grow weed, much to the dismay of those who grow chili. I don't know how enforced this law really is anymore, since it's such a badly thought out law. I dont think its going to happen in Britain anytime soon. The goverment would have to explain to people like my father, that the hardline antidrugs stance that theyve been feeding him and he bought into for 50 years has been a lie. Some people just arnt ready to hear that yet. 10/15 years when that generation start dying, maybe. Doesnt really matter anyway, most police couldnt give a shit about it anyway. A couple of years ago I spent the night in a cell (I think it was for xenophobic reasons, but thats another story) and the unpleasant dick that arrested me found about an oz on me and his face lit up when he told me how fucked I was going to be. Throughout all of this, his colleagues were looking more disapproving at the actions of this dick, but couldnt say anything out of professional courtesy. Next morning I went to get my bag phone, wallet and shit and expected to be charged with the smoke. The desk sargent smiled at me, said sorry and asked if everything was in my clear bag, which included my weed. Guest abusivegeorge
Some more news: Arizonians who qualify will soon be able to possess, use and grow their own marijuana, even before medical marijuana dispensaries open later this year. State health officials on Monday made the forms available on the agency's website that a doctor has to fill out to get a patient a medical marijuana card. State Health Director Will Humble said that although applications won't be accepted until April 14, those who think they qualify can jump-start the process right now. http://ht.ly/4oKGJ Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/64889-cannabis-acquittal/#findComment-1546064 Share on other sites
