Guest beeb21
The movie is about a student who moved to paris. I have never written anything to anything before. It's been fun so far but actually i have no idea what i'm doing. The director doesn't want the music to sound typically french, but i try to keep a romantic and vivid city in my head. Any advice would be appreciated. http://soundcloud.com/amon-shiffrin/f-r-film1-1 http://soundcloud.com/amon-shiffrin/f-r-film2-0 http://soundcloud.com/amon-shiffrin/f-r-film4-3 http://soundcloud.com/amon-shiffrin/f-r-film5-0 Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/64928-hey-guys-i-have-to-write-music-for-a-documentary/ Share on other sites
Squee
Would it be possible for you to post pictures/screenshots from the documentary so we can see what it is your music will be complimenting? Also, is it a playful documentary? Because the first track gives me the impression that it's a light hearted indie documentary whereas the second track has a more melancholy sound to it. I like the second track you posted though. Guest beeb21
I only got a fex scenes in very low resolution. Some shots of the city and an interview with the student. Since the director cannot answer my mails at the moment, i'm preparing for different "styles". Also i try to get a general idea of making soundtracks. Guest beeb21
...the second track isn't likely to be used in the movie. I thought the director might wanna show a church or some other very quiet, kinda mystical place. Otherwise i'll maybe use it in a song. Squee
Even though I still don't know anything about the pacing of the documentary I would slow the music down. Slow soundtracks always work ;) Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide all signatures Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/64928-hey-guys-i-have-to-write-music-for-a-documentary/#findComment-1546295 Share on other sites
Guest beeb21
Thanks for looking into this! I'll simply present the slower versions as remixes or whatever, in case he wants to "go in another direction or something" Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/64928-hey-guys-i-have-to-write-music-for-a-documentary/#findComment-1546326 Share on other sites
