Skink - Six hundred and seventy two, Jerk.

Back in January of this year I decided to set myself a challenge. The challenge was to write at least two minutes of music every day and post it up somewhere people could hear what it was I had made that day. I kept it very low key because I didn't think I would last the week. But much to my surprise I kept going. To me the results were surprising in that they seemed to be fairly cohesive whilst not sticking to one style of music. I was approached by Terranean who wanted to help me promote it, they also supplied a couple of remixes and fixed up the artwork from the original picutes that I took each day to go with the release itself. Now hopefully if you are still interested after I have babbled on this far, you may be interested to hear some sounds.

Finally, I would like to say that this is downloadable in a name your own price with no minimum at all. If of course you want to chip in to the Skink fund I would not say no! I also do not ask for email addresses so you don't have to worry about me spamming you. I figure that if you like it you will remember who are where to get my music from. :)

it's a good project to set for yourself and there's some interesting stuff here, but i don't agree with making an album out of it. the fact that you did one of these per day doesn't benefit the listener.

'does not benefit the listener'? it's an interesting concept, like reading someone's musical diary. what sort of benefit are you looking for? you can download it for free and have a hear if you want, or you can ignore it....

anyway, will be having a listen to this later on. quite liked your samples, as i already mentioned elsewhere.

it doesn't benefit the listener as an album/official release. it belongs on a creative community site like soundcloud or some kind of blog. in a time where there is such overwhelming content out there, this kind of thing just aggravates the situation, regardless of the quality. i know i'm not being very polite here but i think when you put something up on the new releases section it's fair game for criticism the same as any outsider release.

i respectfully disagree with your opinion.

i'm only 20 tracks in and it's been great so far. so many unique tones and samples, and some really nice beat oriented tracks mixed in with the ambience. 'upon a fucking star' and 'really very messy' were some highlights. keep up the good work man.
