Some Aphex Questions...

I have had an mp3 of this alleged Aphex remix of Underworld's 'Born Slippy' in which he incorporates portions of a Pink Floyd song and audio from some Sci-Fi film (I think the Andromeda Strain). It is just over 09:00 long and the only place I have found it on any discography is http://www.discogs.com/release/165031

Does anyone know anything about it, like when it was made or why it appears on only one slab of unofficial vinyl (and some german cdr 'radio promo' I've seen on eBay)?

Also, can anyone confirm if the original Joyrex vinyl releases sound better or worse than the double LP 'Caustic Window Compilation'? I was kinda under the impression that when the Compilation was put together the tracks may have been remastered to sound better. Can anyone confirm?

Well, the original tracks were done back 'in the day', when some of Richard's output quality was questionable (the R&S version of SAW 85-92 is a good example, with tape hiss and the like), and to my knowledge the reissue of the Caustic Window Compilation on vinyl (which came out in 2003 if I remember correctly) was made from the CD or DAT masters of the CD version. The original vinyl version sounded just like the CD version, so I would expect this is the same case here.

I found this by the way by using the search on the WATMM front page - all the news from WATMM from 2002 is there. I would recommend for the time being to use the news archives, since those links work correctly.
