Guest ansgaria
There's a Burial thread on some dubstep forum where there's a whole lot more of those examples. He also sampled Christina Aguilera on one track. Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/65154-burial-sample-sources/#findComment-1553047 Share on other sites

The Green Kingdom
Nice one- I always thought that Beyonce sample was a guy. Didn't he say something about a lot of the vocals being contributed by friends over the phone or something if I'm recalling correctly? Probably just bs because Hyperdub couldn't afford to clear those samples Shows that with a little creativity and skill you can make something awesome out of just about anything... Reminds me of the video where someone found all of the samples for "smack my bitch up" and threw them together in ableton. I digress... Beyond what Burial does with the samples, there's something to be said about how unpretentious and familiar the sources are. It's a key part of why his music resonates to me. Guest Enter a new display name
While the topic is Buriel: I'll always be fascinated by the rhythms in "Exit Woundz". There are reloading guns used as beats in 7/4 while the bass kick and the synths are in 4/4 at a different tempo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I48tpLCGlJc Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/65154-burial-sample-sources/#findComment-1553086 Share on other sites

It's sampled from a cover version of the beyonce track I think. Not sure which gender though since that's easily shifted.
