I've loved this man for years and when I mention him to most people predominantly into jazz they seem unaware. Often when I share it folks are relatively unimpressed, am I missing something? Perhaps he isn't the most gifted player at a particular instrument, but he plays several and his compositions are incredible! Quite a few seem to have many contrary themes running but they all fuse together brilliantly and give me a great impression of the inherant harmonies of a sometimes discordant world.
