do you block ads / use adblock?

My theory is everyone uses adblock now, but I still see people everyday with flashing banners all over their screens, so... any non-adblockers left here? Why?

i do on my computer, but none of my flatmates do and i'm on their computers quite often. it's enraging, haha.

up until 30 seconds ago i did not.

I started using adblock about a year ago... Now I can't stand using a browser without it.

I use it at home, but not at work. I write ads, often for the web, so it seems kind of perverse. And sometimes (rarely) they inspire me.

i cant understand why someone wouldnt have it. i havent seen a banner ad in years (for the most part..)

Just to clarify (especially based on essines' smarmy comment :angry: ), this has nothing to do with putting banner ads of any kind on the forums - I'm personally against that, as I feel it conflicts with the whole point of the forum, etc.

This was merely a poll to see if anyone is using Adblock, as we do have some scripts on the site that might be affected by Adblock (basically Adblock going overboard on what it was designed to do).

I don't like to install random crap I don't need, so I don't use it. There only little ads - they hardly bother me.

i have a data cap on my internet, so i dont like downloading animated gifs and bits of flash i didnt ask for that get subtracted from that cap

not sure if related, but there's a broken image in the top left corner of the forum at the moment which goes to the forum index. also, i use adblock.

I used to have it and have just put it back on. Those ads that are a little video that just start playing are the worst. And YouTube ads before the video as well.

I dont see ads, signatures, or anything, apart from what im focused on. If a site is about 60% ads, it just gets closed. So no I dont use adblock, I just have a brain that naturally shuts out fuzz =)
