you getting a day off for the royal wedding?

An employer with such a holiday clause may decide to close down on the 29 April 2011 but require employees to take the day out of their annual holiday allowance.

I'm going to do a lot of gardening and record some shoegaze.

I'm working those three days because I want to know what it's like to have a three day week. I'm 100% sure it's going to be better than a five day week.

I thought that I'd have to work for it but got something much better.

I get the choice to either have the day off or work it and get a day in lieu to use whenever. I'll be working it then. Spend my extra day off around the time of Sonar in Barcelona

Put it this way; I should check my contract, but I'm just not going to come in.

Yeah but I'd rather work than have a day off because of that. Also I work 3 days a week maximum, so I'd hardly notice one extra day off. Can't be long til Thatcher dies though, I'll enjoy that little holiday.

Pretty sure we are shut for the day, but mainly because most of the rest of the building sector will be shut too.

Plus ive already got tickets for the centrifuge / splutter party on the thursday night so the friday off is definitely required
