got a macbook or imac with a bluetooth keyboard, mouse, or trackpad?

Post your RSSI (radio signal strength indicator) numbers. I'm trying to figure out what the average signal level is.

Just hold alt or option on your keyboard, and click the bluetooth icon, it should show you some extra information.

Mine:

keyboard: -61dbm

trackpad: -71dbm

They're both about a foot away from my macbook, with the lid closed.

it spiked to -420 today for some reason !

magic mouse RSSI: -51dBm

keyboard RSSI: -42dBm

both are about 6" from my imac.

how strange, i have a microsoft mobile 6000 bluetooth keyboard an a 2nd gen macbook and i get 0 dbm... which clearly isn't right. it's situated about 12" from my macbook.

Isn't it a problem to run your macbook when it's closed? I heard there were overheating issues but I have noticed it occasionally wakes itself up when I plug in the monitor without having to open it.

i've had a macbook for years. they're pretty much the standard for developers these days, unless you're building on .net or something..

i suspect it means the device doesn't support RSSI readings.
