I know this is pretty generic and done to death around here, but let's have another round of listing great albums that sound great on headphones in honor of my new half-decent headphone/amp setup. I'm geeking out on lossless audio and crystal clear production. does not have to be idm or electronic!

currently jamming some Terry Riley.

I concur. Secret Chiefs 3 - Book of Horizons.

Also

Mr. Bungle - California

Fantomas - Delirium Cordia. A headphone album if I ever heard one. The concept for the album is surgery without anesthesia, so I perceive the entire recording as being from the perspective of whomever is undergoing the operation.

Miles Davis - The Complete Live at the Plugged Nickel 1965. The first track doesn't count. Every other recording has brilliant stereo imaging. The presence of the musicians is outstanding.

Rafael Toral - Space

The Kronos Quartet - Nuevo

Beck - Midnight Vultures

Ha! I am thrilled that so many people here are digging on Secret Chiefs 3, Book of Horizons.

Portishead, Third is an especially lovely headphones listen. I wonder how many people who were hating on that album actually heard it through headphones. It's aural sex for me.

Elliott Smith, Figure 8
