i think weve all figured it out by this point. watmm is simply a music advertising forum, organized and funded by the few successful electronic music labels who network together to promote top artists onto this site to make money. the idea is to have new and upcoming artists, appear underground, yet successful, in a pitchfork kind of way. joyrex probably sold out years ago, and the username "joyrex" and its moderator account is probably a multiuser account used by record executive teams, as to manipulate the site and its users to promote music from artificially popularized and overrated artists, while hiding behind the identity of being the hottest electronic music social media site online. several moderators and popular users on this site are actually just fake accounts owned by these moderator teams

There was a joke thread about designing a new site which was sort of mocking the fact that we’re not allowed to mention sex ever again or something. There was a photo of a naked cowboy with aphex twins face covering his crotch and luke vibert swimming with dolphins. It was funny and it looks like it has been deleted.

I love the Kakapo, it's a bummer that he is banned.

However, in Joyrex's defense this is his site,

and Kakapo's wammy thread was a bad idea and a blatant fuck you.

it really is becoming that! It's sad. I don't know what bee has gotten into JR's bonnett but I hope he calms down soon. And yes I totally understand his desire to maybe "clean up the site" a bit, make it free from porn, but trying to curb discussion on sex is simply unnatural and silly. And taking goodnatured/totally silly criticism in stride is all part of the job as well, ala Ezkarraldean's one picture, and I guess now Kakapo's infringement. It was a clean kill, double tap, no PMs or warnings, no due process, it’s the American way, I was on 0% warn… I thought it was relatively tame self referential satire and fair comment and that it was poking fun at the fake forums as well… jr is too thin skinned and has a tendency to project collective frustrations of the community onto individuals, not sure how a gay cowboy called ‘Joe Pecs’ could really be seen as a true personal attack, it’s too absurd…

I saw his account at christmas and he was indeed on 0% warn somehow, so unless he racked up the warnings in the last six months he's telling the truth.
