Experimented a bit with putting in external video shot with my Canon S95 so you could see what I was doing on the APC. What do you think?

Check out my youtube channel and/or www.rm-sounds.com for more content.

Interesting technique man, I achieve this sound by using Simpler and adjusting the loop length in real time.

Yep totally, I do that too I just like this technique because it sort of frees you from having to use a sample, i mean you could stick this in front of a synth plugin and glitch out a lead if you wanted (could get iffy depending on how you've programmed the synth). As always there are multiple ways to peel an orange, which is why I love Live.

yeah thanks for this Ryan, i much prefer doing stuttering /glitching with midi and not actual via sample manipulation. 9 times out of 10 it sounds far more clean and pleasurable than the latter (imo)

.

ya i've been following that for a while, saw a comment on it somewhere the other day though about how unfortunately due to the constantly shifting tablet market pouring half a grand into this isn't exactly the most future-proof investment. i mean already, you think the ipad 2 fits into this (maybe it does i haven't actually read all the specs). but who knows what shape the ipad 3 will be?

just curious, as an ableton/apc40/ipad owner what would motivate you to get this? i mean I can't really see anything it does that the apc doesn't do better?

Seems to me like you could dismantle the APC40 and make a custom case that fits the components + your notepad device/anything else you want much cheaper. If you're into that sort of thing :sup:

well, more of a fantasy want. I dont have money to invest in something as novel as that. just looks sweet.

i have considered making a custom launchpad ipad unit... but again, money and time arent permitting it right now.

nice little trick there, never thought of doing it that way.

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.
