I read somewhere cant remember where it was like top 10 fav films Mike likes and top 10 Marcus likes could have been 12 dunno forget. but anyone here rent and watch those movies just to see why or how it might have influenced them?

i've seen maybe 40% of those ... can't say i agree with most of their picks, lol. elephant man, wizard of oz, sure ... dark star? jesus christ superstar? revolution? papillon? i dunno :laughing:

I think I know none of those movies...

I can't even find half of those on IMDb.

i bet "ice core drilling" is one hell of a movie.

BOC have weird tastes. I would have expected The Matrix, 2001: A Space Odyssey and some movies like that. Not documentaries.

Most of those I would imagine are NFBOC documentaries...

Holy shit.

I just watched a tv movie from 1980 called "The Lathe Of Heaven" and it is about as BOC as you can get.

It's about an "effective dreamer" and his psychologist. The dreamer has the power to make anything he dreams into reality, and his psychologist exploits this power to "play god" and try to make the world a better place. Of course he only makes everything worse in the process. Has that unmistakable late 70s paranoia factor, with an excellent story, cheesy special effects, weird synth music, and a very surreal ending.

Highly recommended if you can find it!
