So it's confirmed now Gerald Donald used to be one half of Drexciya? These websites keep saying it lately like they know it for a fact, but I thought they were just rumours.

of course he was part of drexciya. you don't have to be a psychic to get that.

i mean, it's obvious when you listen to his music.

it's like doubting that afx is the tuss. you don't even need the BMI catalog to figure it out.

Lol are you kidding me?

Ultradyne and other from UR made some tracks too, it was more about the music, the theme (water) and the Drexciyan Universe than the artist's ego.

Anyway, don't care much about Gerald Donald these days, he's creatively bankrupt, this much has become clear to me after listening to his Zerkalo and other recent projects and live sets. Send me an email when he makes a bassline that has more than 3 notes or when he eventually synthesizes a new sound, long time admirer of his work but even I have to admit it, time to move forward.

i wouldn't say that he's garbage now but yeah, sticking to a formula isn't the best way to innovate. he's done a lot for electronic music though. maybe he should work with contemporary music composers or something, rather than techno-electro punk lesbians from the iron curtain.

Yeah okay, I'm not doubting it, I definitely hear the sound is very similar but I was simply wondering if there was any confirmation out there. Not that I care that much though. And yeah Donald's recent music doesn't quite speak to me either, kind of a shame.

Don't know what you're on about. his last solo album Dopplereffekt - Calabi Yau Space is more creative in concept and sound than anything out there in ambient and experimental electronic music.

so not forward thinking? Wait until the next Der Zyklus, Arpanet, Dopplereffekt album is out there.

That was in 2007 and even by then the sound was already getting stale, both Quantum Transposition and Biometry are much more interesting (to me) and long standing, only a few tracks on Calabi are actually good while the majority of the album is filler.

My interest in his future projects is almost null, they all will be composed the same way, arranged the same way, feature the same sounds, the same atmosphere, the same patterns even. I don't understand why he has all these aliases when they all sound the same and don't have a recurring theme in any of them. He seems to only break this pattern on remixes and even then...

For an artist that has a big interest in science and technology it sure doesn't reflect in his work anymore, it should advance like science and technology. I think I've heard more interesting synth work on Tim and Eric songs about wiping their butts than anything Gerald did in recent years, is the Triton that limited? 80's synth guys like Jan Hammer praise it like nothing else so it can't be that bad.

This was him in 2006, then what happened?

Quantum Transposition and Biometry are my least favourite from Arpanet and Der Zyklus aliases, although i do like them for what they are. the sound he developed onwards and more recently appeals to me more. Although I wish he would go back to focusing and developing on his solo mission, to give the collabs a little break. Der Zyklus - Cherenkov Radiation was the last one, and what a great record.

You should like Zwischenwelt - Paranormale Aktivitat, some tracks sound like leftovers from Cherenkov Radiation, that is if you can stand the vocals :wtf:

Think someone said they were trying to, however the levels were mad distorted and the they went offair for ten minutes halfway through the set. Was cool and better than nothing, but the sound quality was more what you'd expect from an audience bootleg

i recorded as much as i could, but the broadcast quality was fucking dire to say the least.. i cut out a tune of it that you can listen to:
