Guest Promo
Still thinking about maybe getting an Ipad for my birthday. Think it'd be cool to make some tunes while at work so just wondered if there are any DAWs for the Ipad or maybe I'll just get myself an MPC500 lol. Thoughts welcome. Cheers. I had no idea Floops was on Ipad. That certainly makes it worth getting one but my question is is it fairly stable? The best all rounder i've come across in the akai synthstation but there's tons of music apps out everyday for the ipad. Guest oscii
Look at the SunVox. It's a powerful modular tracker. Check the NightRadio's youtube channel to see the features There is example of using midi keyboard with sunvox and ipad http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=daMCjo8B57s&hd=1 Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/66241-whats-the-best-music-making-app-for-ipad/#findComment-1584243 Share on other sites

I'll have to check out this Synthstation then. Guest Promo
I just checked it out the Synth Station. I see you can only have 4 channels of sound i.e. 3 synth parts and one drum part. Seems kinda limited. That said for £1 I guess you can't complain and plus it has the Akai brand name which is kinda cool. I wonder how many fx you can stack 'cause it might be fun for making a few synth tunes and wobble type things. Guest Coalbucket PI
Nanostudio on the iPhone is very good, it's just too fiddly. I'd bet it's excellent on the iPad. I think you can download a version to try on your computer if you want a look. http://www.blipinteractive.co.uk/ Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/66241-whats-the-best-music-making-app-for-ipad/#findComment-1584336 Share on other sites
cloudbreaker
I really like Beatmaker 2, especially if you're into that mpc type workflow. Makes recording samples and dumping them over pads super easy, and the piano roll based sequencer is quite good as well. Now, caveats: 1) No native iPad version yet, you have to run a 'stretched' version of the iphone app, but it's not bad, just not quite as pretty. 2) It's $20 usd. Which is kind of absurd. But it seems to me like a platform you can actually make tunes on and more than a toy, so... worthwhile if you'll use it. Guest Promo
I'll probably wait and see what else arrives on the scene. A useable version of Fruity Loops would certainly make me think about gettng an Ipad.
