Cool ... I had no idea Floops was on Ipad. That certainly makes it worth getting one but my question is is it fairly stable?

Its actually not quite out yet and will be a cut down version.

The best all rounder i've come across in the akai synthstation but there's tons of music apps out everyday for the ipad.

Yeah I just noticed. Hopefully its no more than £100. I'll have to check out this Synthstation then.

I just checked it out the Synth Station. I see you can only have 4 channels of sound i.e. 3 synth parts and one drum part. Seems kinda limited. That said for £1 I guess you can't complain and plus it has the Akai brand name which is kinda cool. I wonder how many fx you can stack 'cause it might be fun for making a few synth tunes and wobble type things.

I really like Beatmaker 2, especially if you're into that mpc type workflow. Makes recording samples and dumping them over pads super easy, and the piano roll based sequencer is quite good as well.

Now, caveats:

1) No native iPad version yet, you have to run a 'stretched' version of the iphone app, but it's not bad, just not quite as pretty.

2) It's $20 usd. Which is kind of absurd. But it seems to me like a platform you can actually make tunes on and more than a toy, so... worthwhile if you'll use it.
