Guest iep
alright, cool :) no churchbells though... just my trusty waldorf microwaveXT and some samples of huge elevators and rusty machinery.. :)) and yeah, i did go to the open day. it looked wicked. there were some guys showcasing their maxmsp creations (one had a granular processor that used chaos-formulas to calculate the grain-size, density, pitch, etc, very cool and it sounded insane). and the analogue studio is UNBELIEVABLE... woah... what a huge wall of modular equipment.. also... TWO (!!) EMS Synthi VCS3's in one of the digital studio's! incredible.. there was a real nice vibe too.. i'm gonna sign up soon... i dont think this track would be such a good showcase... to be honest, i dont really like it that much... i made better stuff.. but this one just captures the feeling of flying through the clouds of solyaris, landing on the base and spending your first few days on that very alien planet... and because of Lem's recent death I thought it was worth posting here.. RIP.. Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/6646-clouds-over-solyaris/#findComment-136457 Share on other sites

Guest taxman
cool. i like the middle part a lot. the ends are pretty cool too. i don't normally listen to dark textured stuff like this but the sounds in this are really pretty interesting. Guest boo
this gets really nice when the pads come in, with the big boom sounds. really massive sound. fits the theme well. delet...
i don't mind the idea .. allways have .. the reverb is a touch too noticable for my liking though .. like you bury the sounds innit of course .. so you're thinking what am i talking about .. well sometimes you can drench in reverb without it being immediately apparent .. hrmm .. hard to explain ... anyway .. taek it eezee .. mcbpete
Man, this is glorious stuff. Absolutely stunning with a great mixture of ambience and a beautiful slow moving melodic texture slowly shifting over the top. Guest iep
glad you guys are enjoying the clouds over solyaris! you'll find more of my tracks at ezcid.net, however, i only have 100mb webspace so i only have my most recent tracks uploaded over there. lo-fi, who is this David Allen? google only gives me some pages about a country- and blues-musician... :)) i'm curious, i've discovered some real nice music just by checking out the musicians that people likened my music to.. :) Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/6646-clouds-over-solyaris/#findComment-144722 Share on other sites
