all of A Love Supreme by Coltrane

I love going about the house early on a Sunday morning with the sun shining into the windows, the birds chirping outside and the smells of bacons and pancakes swirling around the house.

then I'll realize how much yard work I have to do and the day goes to shit. but those 35 minutes in the morning are priceless.

waking up to most anything by The Advisory Circle is nice. Capitol K's album Island Row also puts me in a pleased mood.

and never underestimate the power of a good funk record first thing in the morning.

GHOST: have you killed Claudius yet
HAMLET: no

I prefer a lot more mellow stuff when I'm waking up because I hate morning- right now for me, I usually either use SAW II (usually start with Rhubarb so I don't have to listen to Radiator as I'm waking up, or Lichen if I do disc 2.) or I use disc 2 of Leyland Kirby - Sadly, The Future Is No Longer What It Was. For some reason I kind of need ambient and melancholy waking up, it puts me in a good mood and wakes me up slowly, where as if I use the beeper on my alarm clock, or upbeat music, I will want to smash it when it goes off.

I did used to wake up to Fake Plastic Trees back in the day though.

like, a song you get your day moving with? or a song that actually wakes you up? waking up to any noise of any kind sucks

i don't think music is noise

it is

imo music is the opposite of noise... i think you mean "waking up to any sound of any kind sucks," with which i disagree

i think calx meant to say "waking up to anything that isn't harmonious and is loud sucks." of course light, lo-fi, muffled-type musics, and ambient all sound great in the morning, even with a hangover. duh guyses
