Guest theSun
so at my awesome new job i've got an fairly new imac to play around with. it's dual core 3.06 ghz only 4gigs of ram but it should be able to do fun things. i just downloaded vox to play music and to play around with effects and to not have itunes. i popped my cpu usage on the desktop and that's pretty kewl. this thread is basically for long time pc users who want to poke their mac Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/66720-macs/ Share on other sites

Reveal hidden contents lolz it's not great but it does work. Guest futuregirlfriend
I've been dual booting W7/10.6.7 for a few days so I'm interested in hearing about what I should check out too. I don't really recommend Fidelia for playing music. I feel like I've been spoilt with Foobar and MPC-HC on windows. UnRarX seems to be the decent unarchiver (unpacks multi-part archives with the least hassle). Guest futuregirlfriend
Is there something that I can just point to a folder of flacs on another drive? Alright. Cog looks like it'll do the trick. Guest Ricky Downtown
Set up spaces. this is my favorite part of my laptop. You can run itunes in one space, firefox in another, pages in another...possibilties are endless really, and you actually do save a lot of time just by hitting command-1 or command-2 instead of minimizing all the dam windows. You will need Fluke to play flac files. Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide all signatures 백호야~~~항상에 사랑할거예요.나의 아들. Guest KY
lol i meant no offense dude, deleting itunes is just a generally-unnecessary first step in getting a mac. if you have video-playback issues and don't want vlc, you can always get perian, which is...a codec library for quicktime i guess? definitely opens up the capabilities of quicktime a bit if you're into that.
