piano composition

My first piece of music for the guts of a year, been very unproductive. Wrote this one for a composition competition, haven't handed it in yet but we shall see...

Anyway just thought I'd upload a little no frills mock-up recording I made. Not really looking for any tips on mastering (as you will immediately hear) as it's purely a provisional thing and will (hopefully) be recorded properly at a later date.

yeah, that's my flatmate practising violin, she's preparing for orchestral auditions.

Used a zoom h2, pretty good little field recorder.

Won the competition, so it'll be properly performed on BBC Radio 3 later in the year, will post a proper recording then!

congrats man, awesome piece of music.

Well that was performed the other night. I swear it was the worst performance of anything I've ever heard, the pianist was missing a page from the middle and didn't want to sightread the extra one onstage, plus he didn't have time to learn the remainder properly so it was way under tempo with loads of wrong notes...

but...
