mushrooms are cool

Hey so I was just thinking about how much I like eating mushrooms, and I had a look around on the internet at all the cool kinds of mushroom there are that I’ve never eaten, and then I just started looking at everything else about mushrooms and i truned into a general mushroom-liker.

This one looks rancid but its latin name is Morchella deliciosa, so you know its good

So morels, these guys look grim and I think their poisonous when raw but cook up good. Because of all the little holes they sometimes have soil and insects that you can’t get out. I want some.

Also honey fungus (http://botit.botany.wisc.edu/toms_fungi/feb99.html) are apparently good to eat and they sometimes glow apparently which is obviously IDM. Possible explanation for will o’ the wisp [side topic: has anyone ever seen will o’ the wisp? Tell me about it] They might make you crazy ill if you drink alcohol. I’ve read this about a few species, not sure why that would be but I’d be prepared to stay off the sauce for fungus fun.

I think I’ve had chantarelles but I’m not sure. I want some kindly wizened old man with a twinkle in his eye to hand me a basket of delicious mushrooms of all types.

My brother and I used to go mushroom hunting all the time during the summer and fall. We'd find pounds of morels which we'd then fry up and eat for days.

Been spotting some mushrooms out and about this june, unusually early for mushrooms... Maybe it's got something to do with global warming.. sorry ... global ice age.

been eating a lot of maitake and shiitake mushrooms lately. mushrooms are a top 5 food item for me.

I picked a big and old mushroom yesterday, cut it into pieces and put it out on the balcony to dry.

I'll make it a mushroom soup when it's dried completely, can't wait.

I like mushrooms, but they don't like me. I'm unable to digest them, they look exactly the same after their exit as they did going in the other end no matter how much I think I might chew, and excreting them feels like passing a cricket ball.
