Oriental Psybient/Chillout

Look, I know it's mostly kinda cheesy, but I love this type of music. Preferably with lots of flutes, sitars and whatnot. Think shpongle, but maybe more interesting artists. Maybe slightly less trippy? None of the psytrance leads that sound wicked on shrooms maan. Leaning on the ambient side goes well too. Anything that takes the mind around the globe. Maybe organic is the word.

Lists like that are generally not helpful for me personally - I want recommendations form people on this board. I dunno about the OP.

But I can say for certain that Eat Static is not chillout/oriental psybient.

have you checked out the proto shpongle band with Posford and Raja Ram called 'Infinity Project' , id say the album mystical experiences is better than anything that came out after 'Are you Shpongled'

not really orient or eastern sounding but i also really like the Celtic Cross side project

unfortunately a lot of those artists on that wiki entry besides Juno Reactor and Eat Static are following in the footsteps of Posford

My favorite psy-chill artist by far... Total class... Nothing silly or too weird... Nice subtle Asian undertones...

His two best albums are Orchid and Sama...
