un-flashy "alt" Fashion Websites

I'd like to look at some clothing styles without the commercial attitude that accompanies most fashion stuff.

Obviously it is gonna be pretentious.

Now the definition of pretentious would seem to make any fashion website pretentious.

However, I'd just like to see a website where I can look at pictures of people's clothing and haircuts and stuff like that.

Nice ensembles without descriptions about "what's hot" and shit like that.

I want to see pictures of the kind of odd and kooky clothing that you see people wearing at festivals.

Really I'd like to see some kind of wiki for styles of clothing and hair and shit that places less emphasis on the person wearing it and more on the aspects of how i looks on them.

Maybe something close to a wiki for counterculture diy tailors.

I know everyone hates hipsters but I like looking at the stuff people wear that falls everywhere on the spectrum from functional to novelty.

But remove yourself from all the assholes you know who wear stuff like this and just focus on the clothing as if you were studying it for the sake of designing science fiction characters.

Or like if you were an autistic person or robot bent on cataloguing all styles and observing and enjoying.

I'm not sure whether you want sci-fi, classy or hipster from your post and I don't think you need guidance to have clothes like the guy in the pic? Just go to the nearest thrift store and pick whatever looks most colorful and combine at will. Or look at pictures from indie / chillwave type bands on last.fm?

Have to admit, I'm developing some sort of interest in fashion, and being nearly autistic I have similar problems... Some podcast took me to this site: http://www.oki-ni.com/ and they have some cool stuff but it's insanely expensive.

I figured ya did. I googled it and found shirts for like $2.50 each, with a discount on bulk orders. Not sure what bulk means though, didn't look too closely.

Edit: bulk discount looks to be almost negligible unless you plan on spending like $500 on shirts.

They have a specific aesthetic and is very brand oriented but it kind of has to be because only so many designers make stuff like that. It's certainly alternative fashion.

That's the most legitimate-looking site I saw. Most of these google results look pretty sketchy.

Uh, don't shower, wash or change out of your oldest clothes for a week. Go to a church. Tell them you're new in town and you've already been kicked out and lost your job. Pick up some of their free tatty clothes.

Then wear that. Et voila, shabby-chic.

yeah this lookbook is where it's at. loads of hipsters, to be sure, but its not TOO bad.
