Domain Registrars

my current domain registrar is being a jerk. who should i switch to????

I recently signed up to BlueHost. They're good. Felt cheap, but I don't really have anything to gauge it against and no previous experience as to whether they're interface is good. But I thought it was easy and affordable.

that looks like a webhost. i have a satisfactory webhost.

i am looking for a registrar -- the place you register a bunch of domains (whatever.com) with.

Oh, I did that through BlueHost too. Nevermind.

I used to love GoDaddy, there was no contest between them and Register.com & NetSol. As the years have passed I find GoDaddy becoming less and less appealing, and their prices have been creeping up as welll.

By accidend I discovered Moniker.com when I failed to renew a Godaddy domain. I soon found out that Moniker allows me to do all of the things that Godaddy does - but much cheaper. (I think a .com is about $7.00 a year (that's for a single year, it's even cheaper if you register for multiple years. )

i've registered ~50 domains through namecheap. never had a problem.

+1 for Namecheap. Their support has been excellent whenever I have contacted them. I do my hosting through them as well although it is primarily a registrar.

yearssssssss ago when godaddy were actually pretty good i registered all my domains through them, so i have to deal with their god-awful site when renewing, ugh its vile. i really should look into transfering them all, not sure how to do it. dont go with them.

.com at namecheap is $10

.com at gandi is $15

Namecheap seem decent and well priced, but I think the extra $5 at Gandi is well worth the peace of mind. I just know they are not going to screw me and I love their account controls and other tools. I can imagine that if you have 50 domains, the extra $5 becomes relevant. I only have 4 so an extra $20 per year doesnt bother me.
