Whereas I agree with some of the points in that, I think the market will contract significantly after a time as more and more people get burned out on the sheer glut of music that is easily accessed and focus more on a handful of artists or labels that tickle their particular fancy.

 

This is most likely already happening (I know I find myself narrowing my focus quite a bit). He is right in that music just doesn't feel as special if you are listening to 30 or 40 albums a month. At least I hope it will contract. My fear is that the number of new artists will continue to surpass the number that are burning out and finding other vocations, as there simply aren't enough paying (whether in money or attention) customers to go around.
