So I stumbled upon this ambient/industrial gem:

Intrigued to find out more, I snooped around abit and found very little info on the band itself, but this website of the defunct label ZNS Tapes, that released an album by them, hosts free downloads of a bunch of tapes released in the 90s.

It's a goldmine. Happy exploring!

Maeror Tri is one of the best groups of all time, although Ambient Dreams is not exactly the best starting point in my opinion despite being a great album of course. I'm also very intrigued by the tape scene that took place in the late 80s/early 90s, and it's funny to think that even though most of those recordings seemed to sink into oblivion they found their way into my ears and proved to be miraculously good. A true blast from the past.

Sure. I think if we're being rough, we can split Maeror Tri's music into two categories: the more melody-driven ambient landscapes and that Hypnotikum-like drone that is pretty static.

I'm not going to drop many titles now even though their discography is massive and even continued in Troum, but I think if you dig what I will now list, you can go anywhere you want in their works.

The industrial drone stuff: Emotional Engramm, Yearning for the Secrets of Nature, Ambient Dreams

The more melodic soundscapes: Myein, The Beauty of Sadness, Venenum
