How do you shave?

Recommended Posts

So I have this beard I don't like shaving as it hurts a bit. Maybe because I'm a pussy, maybe because I have bad shaving hardware or maybe it's just supposed to hurt. Anyway I don't like to shave so I have a bit of beard and mustache all the time. Now to the point.

My gf loves this beard style, when I only leave a column of hair in the middle of the chin. She kinda persuaded me to do it a couple of times, but don't identify with the look of it as it feels awkwardly gay. I'd still do it because I want her to be happy but hate it too much to do it often. Question follows.

"How do you fellow watmmees that are in a relationship (and have growing beards) deal with that? Are your girlfriends and wives engaged in your shaving rituals?"

I'm all ears, pics welcome.

www.petergaber.com is where I keep my paintings. I used to have a kinky tumblr, but it exploded.

My girlfriend has very sensitive skin, and if I'm too stubbly her chin gets all red and raw from all the totally hot kissing we do.

It doesn't really bother me, because I look ridiculous with facial hair anyway (aside from the occasional, dashing air-force style moustache). If I'm not going to see her for a few days I sometimes grow it out just a little bit, but I feel really grubby if I go more than 3 or 4 days without a shave.

this is a slippery slope gaarg. she is exercising her control over you. if you think it makes you uncomfortable and doesn't suit you tell her get her own beard to sculpt.

slippery slope.

I look best with a beard, and my girlfriend agrees, provided I trim it occasionally, so if I never have to use another razor, I would not be shocked. Those puberty years where I grew too much to have peach fuzz, and too little to have a beard were quite annoying. I cut myself shaving all the time.

I like shaving in the shower, it's very comfortable. if your girl has control over your facial hair than you should have control over the hair on her lap flounder. she should shape it as you see fit. that's only fair.

I normally shave with a triple bladed razor, no shaving cream, and I seldom buy new razors because I'm not a big fan of spending money on practical things. So it usually hurts a little bit. But I like that. My girlfriend thinks beards look stupid, so I shave for her. But she's working on a cruise ship for another month and a bit so I have a wicked ginger beard that would make you feel like you were on a pirate ship if you saw it. Yaar.

I usually cultivate this style myself and I assure you, it's neither gay nor awkward. My lady admits beards can be slightly annoying but would not ask to exercise control over my shaving habits so I pretty much do whatever. She already shaves the vajayjay so there's no need to bargain.

I haven't clean shaved for a few years now, I find it really uncomfortable. I use clippers about once a week and keep it short, and maybe wet shave a few bits to tidy it up if I feel like looking smart. Due to listening to IDM as a teenager I have quite a strong neck element to my facial hair, I often feel like this section should be shaved off but then what happens is when I look down the stubble skin rubs on itself and I experience IBS (itchy beard syndrome).

My girlfriend likes it as it is and I have a fairly soft beard - I shampoo it which is something I recommend to anyone for softness and decreased incidences of IBS, and also the occasional problem of BO (beard odour).

She doesn't really have too much control over me. Actually we talk about these things all the time. Thing is this one stroke-beard kicks my aesthetic ass. I never liked these kinda beards, never identified with people that wore them. It's just kinda non-me. She of course doesn't care and thinks it's awesome.

If I could press a button to stop all facial hair form ever growing on my head again I'd do it. Fuck it, too much fuss over almost no effect for me.

Would anyone else press the button or are you all to idm or manly to do it?

Clean-shaven face, which is what she wants. I've tried growing beards when we're apart for a while, but I always shave after day 2. I'm not patient enough to make it through the first few days of grubbyness.

I understood gaarg to mean just the under chin strip, no moustache? This does look kind of pretentious for some reason. Possibly even worse with the moustache actually. I think you can get away with it if you have a blonde beard because it's not so visible but black hair makes you look like they kind of guy who guns a Fiat Coupe around town on a Friday night with his Manolo mate in the passenger seat and winks at women at bus stops whilst blaring Tiesto. I would refer to that as a dribbler. I don't grow hair there so I've never had to deal with this dilemma.

the soul patch? aye those are pretty douchey. anything too contrived and fiddly to achieve is douchey in my book (which is available to buy in all good book stores).

My lady likes getting tickled by my beard. I don't give two shits what she think about how it looks though. My looks and my hygiene are all for me and no one else.

Speaking of which, I need a haircut.
